Horse and Pony Training

The Riding to Success Boarding/Training Program provides an intensive educational experience for both horse and owner.

Boarding

Each horse or pony in training becomes one of the family! During their stay, horses-in-training live in the environment found most healthy for equine: 24-hour turnout with other horses and ponies with access to a run-in shelter. Feed with supplements can be provided depending upon the individual horse’s needs. Ponies or horses with weight or founder issues may be kept with others in the “diet paddock,” with small, frequent feedings of excellent quality grass hay to insure digestive health.

Horse Training

A regular groundwork and riding schedule will be designed with the owner based upon specific goals for the horse.

Sample Goals include helping your horse become
o Reliable and relaxed on the ground and under saddle.
o Easy to catch and lead.
o Able to stand patiently for saddling.
o Easy to bridle.
o Responsive to seat and leg aids.
o Willing to calmly negotiate obstacles and water crossing.

Owner Participation

During your horse’s stay, all lessons (and/or those of your children) are included at no additional cost. You’ll learn to become the effective “herd leader” your horse needs you to be! With our step-by-step groundwork and riding instruction, you’ll enjoy the confidence that comes from developing a deep, harmonious connection with your horse.
